Visitor statistics with Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited and how visitors find us. Statistics only load if you allow statistics in the cookie banner. If you decline, or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded and no statistics cookies are set.

With your consent, Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga and _ga_*) and collects data about your visit: pages you visit, approximate location, device, browser and the page you came from. We do not use the data for advertising, and the advertising features in Google Analytics are turned off.

Legal basis: your consent. Provider: Google Ireland Limited. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Retention in Google Analytics: 14 months.

Cookies

ss_samtycke: stores your cookie choice, that is, which categories you allowed, when you chose and a random consent ID. First-party cookie, kept for 12 months. The same value is also stored in your browser’s localStorage as a backup. The cookie is necessary for us to remember your choice and is set without consent.

_ga and _ga_*: Google Analytics, only if you allow statistics. They tell visitors and visits apart. First-party cookies, kept for up to 2 years.

locale: remembers whether the site should be shown in Swedish or English. First-party cookie, kept for 12 months.

The cookie banner comes from our web agency Svensk Synlighet and is loaded from svensksynlighet.se. It sets no cookies for Svensk Synlighet.

Change or withdraw your consent

Click “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, or the round button in the bottom left corner. You can allow or decline statistics there at any time and see your consent ID. If you decline after allowing, we stop measuring and remove the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.

Your choice applies for 12 months. After that we ask again.

The contact form

If you write to us through the form, we process your name, email address, topic and message in order to reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

The message is sent as email via Resend and stored in our database at Google Firebase. We keep enquiries for 12 months.

Error reports and hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. If an error occurs on the site, a technical error report is sent to Sentry (stored in the EU) so that we can fix it. When an error occurs, Sentry also records a replay of how the page looked and what happened just before the error. All text and images are masked in the replay. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site working.

Your rights

You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict processing and to object to it. Email info@sowandox.com.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.
